Working collectively demands accountability — to its members, to allied organizations, and to the fishing sector. The SMC is ICPMX's response to that demand: a system of indicators built collaboratively that enables tracking the initiative's progress, guiding its activities, and learning along the way.
It is not a system imposed from the outside. It was designed by the ICPMX membership, integrating their experience and expertise through a consensus process that reflects the diversity of stakeholders and perspectives that make up the network.
The construction of the SMC involved the collaborative work of the initiative's membership to reflect their individual and collective experiences and areas of expertise. A consensus-oriented methodology was developed that included research, information processing, and comparison of indicators for each topic. The result is a tool that is part of the network and evolves with it.
The detailed information of the Shared Measurement System — including macro, mezzo, and specific indicators — is available exclusively to ICPMX network members.
