Paulina Klein
Paulina Klein

Coordination

Paulina is a biologist from the Faculty of Sciences at UNAM, raised on the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, where the ocean was not simply a backdrop, but a way of life. That upbringing instilled in her a conviction that has guided her entire professional career: that the health of the oceans and the wellbeing of the communities that depend on them are absolutely inseparable.

With more than 20 years of experience in fisheries governance, sustainability across the seafood value chain, and marine conservation, she has worked with the federal government on marine spatial planning in the Gulf of California and with various civil society organizations working to shape the country's fisheries policy.

She also served as project manager for Turning Tides, an international initiative active across five continents dedicated to securing tenure rights for small-scale fishers and coastal communities.

Paulina joined ICPMX at its founding in 2017 as project manager, took on the operational coordination role in 2023, and was appointed Support Team coordinator in 2026. Few people know this initiative as deeply as she does — its history, its members, its challenges, and what it is capable of achieving.
She is driven by the certainty that lasting change is born when diverse actors succeed in building shared visions — and that is what she puts her work into, every day.

Administration and Logistics

Ivonne holds a degree from Tec de Monterrey and brings 25 years of experience in international trade, logistics, and customer service — fields where her empathy, active listening, and genuine attentiveness to people's needs have always set her apart. Throughout her career she has developed a strong capacity for teamwork, process improvement, and fostering environments of mutual support that help teams adapt to change. She firmly believes that true teamwork lies in bringing out the best in others.

A passionate trail runner, yoga practitioner, and animal welfare advocate, she has channeled her love for animals into a purposeful project that actively supports dog shelters — making a tangible contribution to the problem of animal mistreatment in Mexico.
